Sobre Cole
Hi! I'm Cole. I grew up in Philadelphia in the USA. I have a degree in journalism, as well as a handful of teaching certifications. I have previously worked as a journalist and freelance writer in the US for a number of small newspapers and magazines. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, cooking, music, and walking through the park on a sunny day.
I've completed two accredited, Level 5 certified 120hr TEFL courses and have accumulated more than 200 hours of teaching observation, grammar, and phonetics coursework.
I like to get my students speaking in English as much as possible. To achieve this, I design lessons on grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, or listening skills, followed by a speaking activity to incorporate the target language learned. In the past, I've organized debates, role plays, mock-presentations, and games with my students. Come say hi!

I utilize a three-stage lesson structure that get students confidently using their newly learned vocabulary in context by the end of each lesson. In addition to presentations and exercises, I like to incorporate games and free-flowing discussions into my lessons as well to help students improve fluency.
For example, a lesson on phrasal verbs might include...
-A short warm-up game of word race or Pictionary.
-A presentation with reading material that includes commonly used phrasal verbs, followed by a dissection of their meanings and grammatical structure.
-A worksheet or exercise practicing the new vocabulary in context.
-A writing activity where students narrate their weekends using newly learned phrasal verbs.
